At CPPD, we believe in the transformative power of humanistic psychology work - for our students, our community of alums and tutors, the clients they serve, and the staff that helps hold it all together.

We're seeking an experienced Program Director to lead our certificate programs with both strategic insight and a deep commitment to our values.

Intention of the Role:

  • Guide program development as a thought leader in humanistic psychology, ensuring they remain dynamic, relevant, and deeply rooted in our ethos.
  • Collaborate closely with tutors, supervisors, and placement partners to nurture a culture of excellence and shared purpose.
  • Support trainee growth by overseeing progress, conducting interviews, and tending to compliance with care and attention.
  • Cultivate meaningful relationships with placement organizations through thoughtful engagement and annual visits.
  • Foster intra-institutional connection through weekly team meetings and recruitment efforts.
  • Balance strategic vision with grounded action - adapting programs to meet BACP/CPPD UK updates, local market needs, and contributing to sustainable financial practices.
  • Engage with the mental health community through events and nurture meaningful partnerships.
  • Embody and model CPPD values and foster an environment supporting our mission.

Who We're Looking For:

  • A qualified therapist or counsellor and/or licensed psychologist with a passion for humanistic psychology (experience in the approach is a plus).
  • A leader who inspires teams with clarity, warmth, and the ability to hold both big-picture thinking and thoughtful details.
  • A relational bridge-builder—skilled in communication, collaboration, and creating spaces where people thrive.
  • Understanding of training program compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategically minded, with the ability to translate vision into actionable steps that align with our mission.
