Job Title: Web Scraping Engineer (Mid-Senior Level)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Required: 2–3 years in web scraping and data extraction

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Web Scraping Engineer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience to join our data engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining efficient and scalable scraping pipelines to collect data from various websites and online platforms. You will work closely with data analysts, product managers, and backend engineers to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust web scraping systems using tools such as Scrapy, Selenium, Playwright, or BeautifulSoup.
  • Build and manage large-scale scraping pipelines with scheduling, logging, and error handling.
  • Optimize scrapers for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Clean, parse, and structure raw data into usable formats (JSON, CSV, or databases).
  • Ensure compliance with websites' terms of service and best practices for ethical scraping.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver relevant datasets.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in web scraping and data extraction.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and scraping libraries/frameworks (Scrapy, Selenium, Playwright, etc.).
  • Knowledge of proxies, user-agents, and rotating IPs.
  • Familiarity with regular expressions, XPath, and CSS selectors for data parsing.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other databases for storing and querying scraped data.
  • Ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code with proper documentation.
  • Experience with version control tools like Git.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker.
  • Basic knowledge of data cleaning, ETL workflows, and data engineering principles.
  • Exposure to job scheduling tools like Airflow, Celery, or Cron.
  • Previous experience with scraping large-scale or high-frequency data projects
