Overview

We're hiring a Global Backend Technology Lead Join one of the Middle East's largest digital banking leaders (HQ in Pakistan) in a hands-on leadership role. You'll drive backend architecture, solution design, coding standards, and production stability across a multi-country digital banking platform, reporting directly to the SVP, Senior Product Owner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and deliver secure, scalable Java microservices supporting millions of customers
  • Drive technical solutioning and architectural decisions for multi-market deployments
  • Set and govern coding, security, and release standards across backend squads
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product, design, QA, and DevOps
  • Mentor backend engineers and grow technical leadership capabilities
  • Oversee production release readiness, manage critical incidents, and lead RCAs
Qualifications
  • At least 15+ years backend engineering experience (Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices)
  • Background experience in digital banking, fintech, or payments
  • Expertise in cloud-native architectures, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong experience in secure coding practices (OAuth2, JWT, encryption, tokenization)
  • Exposure to event-driven platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, messaging systems)
  • Experience leading P1 production incident response
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance within the financial sector
  • Excellent English communication and ability to work with senior stakeholders
