We are seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer specialized in Data Platforms to join our Solutions Engineering team. This role combines technical expertise with client-facing consultation to create tailored data solutions that address our clients' business needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of modern data architectures, platforms, and tools, with a proven track record of designing solutions and responding to RFPs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to understand their data requirements, challenges, and objectives
• Design comprehensive data platform solutions that align with client needs, including:
• Modern data lakehouse architectures combining the flexibility of data lakes with the reliability of data warehouses
• Cloud-native data mesh designs for distributed domain-oriented data ownership
• Hybrid multi-cloud data architectures with appropriate governance and security controls
• Real-time streaming data pipelines integrated with batch processing workflows
• Semantic layer implementations that unify disparate data sources for consistent analysis
• Create and deliver compelling presentations and demos that showcase our data platform capabilities
• Develop proposals and respond to RFPs, focusing on technical solution sections
• Create detailed project plans, timelines, resource estimates, and team compositions for proposed solutions
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technology stacks (cloud-based or open source) based on client requirements
• Build proof-of-concept demonstrations and prototypes to validate solution approaches
• Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in data platforms
• Collaborate with sales teams as part of the Solutions Engineering organization to support the entire sales cycle, from initial engagement to contract signing
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients on data platform strategy and implementation

Requirements:

• 3-10 years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or related technical roles
• Proven experience responding to RFPs and contributing to successful sales proposals
• Excellent knowledge of modern data platform architectures including:
• Data Lakes (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, Google Cloud Storage)
• Data Warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse)
• Lakehouse platforms (Databricks, Microsoft Fabric)
• Data Mesh architectures for domain-oriented data products
• Lambda and Kappa architectures for real-time and batch processing
• Hands-on experience with data formats such as Iceberg, Parquet, and Delta
• Proficiency with major data platform technologies including:
• Modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery)
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT tools and processes including Airbyte, Airflow, AWS Glue, and Azure Data Factory
• Ability to compare and contrast different data warehousing solutions and articulate their pros and cons in client-specific contexts
• Experience with both cloud-based and open-source data technologies
• Ability to create solution architectures at both conceptual and detailed technical levels
• Strong project planning skills, including resource estimation and timeline development
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor and client-facing presence

Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include:

• Evaluating client needs and determining optimal data platform solutions for specific industry use cases, such as:
• Retail analytics modernization using cloud data warehouses and real-time inventory dashboards
• Financial services risk analysis platforms with integrated ML capabilities
• Healthcare data integration solutions compliant with HIPAA and other regulations
• Manufacturing IoT data pipelines for predictive maintenance
• Media and entertainment content recommendation engines with personalized analysis
• Designing solution architectures across various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or open-source alternatives
• Drafting technical sections of RFP responses and sales proposals
• Creating project implementation plans with realistic timelines and milestones
• Developing resource models and team compositions for successful project delivery
• Building and delivering technical demonstrations to showcase solution capabilities
• Leading client workshops to gather requirements and present solution approaches
