About the team

Careem is looking for a Senior Enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our enterprise IAM services (e.g., Okta, SailPoint, Thycotic, CyberArk), onboarding applications into these systems, and driving innovation in a dynamic, fast-growing environment. You will work independently and collaboratively, making technical decisions and promoting their adoption across teams.

You will work closely with Infrastructure, IT, Compliance, and Legal teams to build secure IAM systems. As a remote-first company, we face unique challenges and aim to reduce friction in IAM processes, ensuring security and efficiency.

What you'll do

  • Support and maintain a world-class enterprise IAM infrastructure to support growth
  • Implement, modernize, and ensure adoption of IAM systems, providing excellent user experience and security
  • Address business and user experience challenges through technology
  • Contribute to the development of our identity architecture and strategic decisions
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Mentor junior team members to foster growth

What you'll need

  • Deep understanding of authentication protocols (e.g., SSO, OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
  • At least 6 years of experience in enterprise IAM systems
  • Proactive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Passion for automation and reducing toil
  • Experience with IAM vendors like Okta, SailPoint
  • Knowledge of IAM controls for regulations like SOx, GDPR
  • Experience with cloud IAM systems (e.g., AWS Directory Service)
  • Ability to shape IAM strategy and roadmap
  • Skills to design secure, seamless access systems
  • Proficiency with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Git, CI/CD)
  • Experience managing Privileged Access Management (PAM) systems
  • Experience in hyper-growth e-commerce environments
