The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery. The Department has 114 full-time and part-time faculty with a strong commitment to teaching and research. Formal structured undergraduate teaching, postgraduate residency, and fellowship programs are integrated into the academic functions of the department.

Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Medical Officer, Surgery.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • perform pre-operative evaluation of the patients
  • perform post-operative management of surgical patients
  • document the above in a timely manner and communicate appropriately with the patients and their families
  • ensure availability on the premises when on call and respond promptly to the calls
  • remain updated on infection control procedures, standard protocols, and clinical practice of the hospital.
Requirements

You should have:

  • MBBS degree from an HEC-recognized university
  • at one year post MBBS experience from a reputable institution
  • a valid license from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council
  • willing to work shift duties.
