Zameen.com is looking for an experienced Senior Manager (Legal) to oversee and organize governance processes, company policy and its compliance with government regulatory bodies.

This role involves working closely with senior management to advise on legal matters pertaining to regulatory requirements, and developing and keeping a framework for identification, management, and reporting of AML & CFT sanctions etc., and address compliance and regulatory issues/investigations in addition to other responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute strategic business models to drive market innovation, positive disruption, and sustainable growth, including within the Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) sector.
  2. Advise senior management on corporate legal matters, legislative and regulatory developments across commercial operations, human resources, audit, taxation, financial markets, capital markets, and other strategic areas.
  3. Oversee and manage the foreign direct investment (FDI) portfolio for all Pakistan-based group entities, ensuring compliance with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for remittance and registration.
  4. Establish and implement a comprehensive compliance framework aligned with both local and international regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to financial, real estate, and capital market regulations.
  5. Ensure full compliance with REIT-related regulatory obligations, including structuring, governance, investor protection, and reporting requirements in accordance with SECP and other relevant authorities.
  6. Address compliance and regulatory challenges, manage investigations, and mitigate legal and financial risks across the business.
  7. Engage with local and international regulatory bodies (Abu Dhabi Global Market, Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai Real Estate Regulatory Agency, SECP, SBP, Competition Commission of Pakistan, and Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan) to strengthen corporate governance, policy development, and compliance measures.
  8. Develop and oversee frameworks for Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT), sanctions compliance, and corporate risk management.
  9. Conduct legal audits and due diligence across business functions, ensuring regulatory alignment and operational integrity.
  10. Manage corporate secretarial functions to uphold timely and effective corporate governance practices.
  11. Design and deliver legal training sessions to enhance regulatory awareness and compliance culture within the organization.
  12. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, contracts, and regulatory submissions, ensuring alignment with legal and business objectives while safeguarding corporate interests.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • LLB; LLM (Preferably Adv high court licence)
  • DTP (SECP) is also a plus

Experience: 7 years of experience in Legal/ Risk assessment & Compliance.
