Professor / Associate / Assistant Professor will facilitate the Head of Department to manage and supervise the clinical / academic activities of the department and patient care. He / She will assign / delegate duties to the Senior Registrars / Registrar staff for the smooth functioning of the department regarding patient care, teaching, and training of students. He / She will manage, supervise, and train PGs / MOs / HOs and other paramedical staff. He / She will also coordinate and collaborate with hospital administration to ensure quality education to students and health services to patients.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Arranging and delivering lectures, seminars, clinical and practical skills sessions, small group discussions, evaluations, and assessments for MBBS / BDS students according to curriculum.
  2. Facilitating postgraduate trainees (FCPS and DCPS) in clinical presentation, small group discussions, case-based and problem-based teaching, journal clubs, psychomotor skills training, and preparation for examinations and dissertations.
  3. Assisting the Head of Department / Professor in organizing CPCs, clinical meetings, and conferences in collaboration with professional organizations.
  4. Coordinating research activities, supporting faculty and postgraduate trainees in research and publications as part of career development.
  5. Conveying knowledge on basic management of common patient problems, emergency treatment, and decision-making to enhance students' clinical and practical skills.
  6. Assisting in organizing MBBS / BDS examinations.
  7. Ensuring regular outpatient department sessions for ongoing medical care and supervising new patient referrals.
  8. Conducting ward rounds to monitor and supervise patient progress and care.
  9. Performing medical procedures in wards under supervision and ensuring diagnostics and investigations are carried out appropriately.
  10. Providing specialist advice on medical issues referred from other departments.
  11. Assessing patients in the emergency department as needed.
  12. Participating in on-call duties after regular hours to provide 24/7 coverage for critical patients.
  13. Assisting in departmental investigations of mortalities.
  14. Managing, supervising, and training PGs / MOs / HOs and paramedical staff to ensure quality patient care and staff development.
  15. Preparing and monitoring departmental duty rosters, and resolving staff management issues.
  16. Maintaining liaison with hospital administration regarding ward management, patient records, and routine matters.
  17. Adhering to Islamic and medical ethics as per IIMCT mission statement.
