The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health & climate change, and non-communicable diseases & mental health.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the design, implementation, and supervision of behavior change strategies to strengthen the quality of care at both community and provider levels in line with EPHS objectives
  • Overseeing the rollout of provider behavior change training modules and establishing systems for feedback, supervision, and performance monitoring to ensure respectful, dignified, and client-centered care
  • Strategically guiding community-level behavioral change interventions to increase awareness, reduce barriers, and enhance uptake of maternal, child health, nutrition, and preventive services
  • Managing the implementation of the community platform component of EPHS in district Tando Allahyar, ensuring timely and contextually relevant execution aligned with project goals
  • Establishing and maintaining high-level coordination with district health authorities, local NGOs, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of interventions and alignment with broader health system goals
  • Leading the identification of systemic and community-level barriers to service utilization and quality, and developing actionable strategies to address them through evidence-informed approaches
  • Supervising the formation and functioning of community-based structures (e.g., women's support groups) to promote sustained behavior change and social accountability in health service delivery
  • Monitoring and evaluating project performance indicators related to behavior change, community engagement, and quality of care, and generating regular reports for institutional and donor-level stakeholders
  • Ensuring accurate documentation, data quality, and timely reporting on community engagement activities, behavioral outcomes, and service quality trends
  • Providing strategic input into capacity-building initiatives, including content development, facilitation oversight, and evaluation of training effectiveness related to community mobilization and provider behavior change
  • Contributing to research, documentation, and dissemination of learnings from the EPHS implementation to inform policy and scale-up
Qualifications
  • A minimum of master's degree in social sciences, Public Health, Nursing or Community Development from an HEC recognized or reputable foreign university
  • At least 7 years experience in community mobilization, particularly in health or development projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with women and marginalized groups
  • An understanding of the local cultural context and the challenges faced by women in the community
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
