Centre of Excellence, Trauma and Emergencies (CETE) aims to develop human and institutional capacity and advocate for local and global policy change to maximize the chances of survival after an individual or public health emergency in the global south. The primary goal of the Centre is to improve health outcomes of individuals and populations affected by trauma and emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, complex humanitarian crises, disasters due to climate change and large-scale epidemics.
CETE collaborates with the Aga Khan Development Network partners, global academic institutions, public and private sectors, and funding agencies to champion multidisciplinary research and strengthen trauma and emergency systems, disaster preparedness, and emergency responsiveness, primarily in Pakistan and the rest of the developing world.
This is a grant-funded contractual position.
Responsibilities:
Incumbent will support the financial and grant administrative functions of the department. The role will ensure adherence to donor regulations, internal policies, and financial reporting standards while providing efficient support to Principal Investigators (PIs), departments, and research teams. The incumbent will also play a key role in budgeting, expenditure monitoring, reporting, and audit facilitation.

You should have:a Master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related fieldpart-qualified or qualified CA/ACCA/CIMA/CMA, which will be an advantagean additional certification in research and grants, which will be an advantageat least three years of experience in finance and grants administrationstrong knowledge of accounting standards, grant compliance (e.g., NIH, USAID, EU, Wellcome Trust), and budgeting principlesknowledge of and ability to interpret and apply sponsor, institutional, and departmental policiesability to negotiate and manage research grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts with international granting agencies in line with institutional legal and regulatory requirementsexcellent working experience with all types of award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, cooperative agreements, sub-awards, and purchase ordersattention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressureexcellent interpersonal, communication, and coordination skillsproficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modellingability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environmenta high level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to excellence.Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
