Position Overview: As a Senior BI Engineer at F&J Consultants, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable BI solutions, implementing enterprise data models, and optimizing data flows to enable efficient reporting and analytics across the organization. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in BI development and data warehousing, with hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Synapse, and cloud-based data warehouse solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BI Solution Development: Design and develop comprehensive BI solutions, enterprise data models, and analytical workflows using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
  • Data Warehouse Implementation: Implement and maintain cloud-based data warehouses using Azure Synapse, OneLake, and Direct Lake Mode.
  • ETL/ELT Pipelines: Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines leveraging Dataflows, Synapse Pipelines, and Power Query (M) to ensure seamless data processing.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize DAX, SQL, and Python-based data transformations for both performance and scalability.
  • Data Governance & Security: Ensure adherence to best practices for data governance, accuracy, security, and compliance standards.
  • Collaboration with Business Teams: Work closely with business teams to understand requirements and design insightful and actionable dashboards and reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep up with industry trends and implement innovative BI solutions to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in BI development and data warehousing.
  • Expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in DAX, SQL, Power Query (M), and Python for data processing and transformations.
  • Solid experience with building and managing ETL/ELT workflows and cloud data architecture.
  • Knowledge of data governance, modeling, and performance optimization best practices.
  • Experience with Azure cloud technologies is essential; Microsoft Azure and Fabric certifications are a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on creating scalable and efficient BI solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Azure certifications in Power BI or Azure Synapse are highly desirable.
  • Experience with other BI tools or cloud technologies is a plus.
