Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented General Manager – Operations with proven experience in managing large-scale manufacturing operations, particularly in 5-pocket jeans, denim, or related woven apparel products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end operational oversight including production, planning, quality, supply chain, industrial engineering, and compliance to ensure on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and product excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Production & Manufacturing Oversight

  • Lead and manage day-to-day plant operations for denim/jeans production units.
  • Ensure consistent productivity, efficiency, and quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee stitching, washing, finishing, and packing departments with denim-specific know-how.

2. Planning & Execution

  • Develop production plans based on orders and forecasts.
  • Coordinate closely with merchandising, sourcing, and procurement teams.
  • Ensure effective capacity planning and optimization of available resources.

3. Quality Assurance & Control

  • Implement rigorous quality control procedures across all production lines.
  • Ensure adherence to buyer quality standards for denim and woven products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve recurring quality issues proactively.

4. Supply Chain & Inventory Management

  • Manage raw material flow, trims, and accessories to avoid production delays.
  • Optimize inventory levels while minimizing wastage.
  • Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams for smooth material flow.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives across production units.
  • Ensure best practices in lean manufacturing, process re-engineering, and industrial engineering.
  • Monitor labor productivity and introduce performance improvement plans.

6. Compliance & Sustainability

  • Ensure all statutory, labor law, health & safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Promote sustainable manufacturing practices, especially in denim washing and water management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop factory management teams and supervisors.
  • Build a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration for operational synergy.

PRE - REQUISITES:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Apparel Technology, or related field. Master's Degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of experience in garment manufacturing with at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role.
  • Must have strong hands-on experience in 5-pocket jeans, denim, and woven garment production.
