Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Backend Developer (Node.js) at Powersoft19 in Lahore. The Senior Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems to support web and mobile applications. You will work on building robust server-side logic, ensuring optimal application performance, and seamlessly integrating with front-end components. This role demands a proactive individual who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and continuously explore and implement new technologies to enhance development efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement server-side logic using Node.js.
  • Integrate and manage third-party APIs and services.
  • Ensure data security and implement authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with client, cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Work with databases (SQL and NoSQL) for data storage and retrieval.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in the backend systems.
  • Regularly update product managers on status of work and communicate areas where additional support is needed
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency

Qualifications and Skills

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Proven 2+ years working experience as a Backend Developer with a focus on Node.js
  • Experience with frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS
  • Proficiency in working with databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
  • Knowledge of authentication protocols such as OAuth, JWT, or SAML.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
