Overview

The Technical Draftsman (Furniture) will be responsible for preparing detailed furniture shop drawings, technical documentation, and design layouts for residential, office, and commercial furniture projects. The role requires precision, creativity, and strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing standards, materials, and fittings.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings for furniture, including kitchens, wardrobes, office furniture, and customized designs.
  • Work closely with designers and production teams to translate design concepts into manufacturing drawings.
  • Ensure accuracy of dimensions, fittings, and material specifications in drawings.
  • Develop cutting lists, joinery details, and assembly instructions for production.
  • Maintain a library of standard furniture drawings, fittings, and finishes.
  • Review and revise drawings based on client feedback, site measurements, or production requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement and production departments to ensure material compatibility.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety requirements.
  • Support site teams with installation drawings and technical clarifications when required.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Drafting.
  • 2–4 years of experience as a Draftsman in furniture/joinery industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, or similar drafting/design software.
  • Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing processes, materials, and hardware.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior drawings.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and technical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
