Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Senior Product Designer to lead the design and development of new furniture collections. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in furniture design, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to translate market trends and customer needs into functional, visually appealing products.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Design & Development:

  • Lead the end-to-end product design process for furniture collections, from concept sketches to final prototyping.
  • Develop innovative and market-relevant furniture designs that align with brand aesthetics.
  • Create detailed 2D/3D drawings, technical specifications, and material documentation.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure design feasibility and quality execution.

Trend Research & Innovation:

  • Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform design direction.
  • Stay updated on materials, finishes, construction techniques, and industry advancements.
  • Propose new design ideas based on customer insights, feedback, and competitive benchmarking.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Mentor junior designers and provide creative direction when required.
  • Work closely with marketing, merchandising, and manufacturing teams to bring products to market.
  • Participate in design reviews, feedback loops, and quality control processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in furniture or product design.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of materials, construction, ergonomics, and finishing techniques.
  • Excellent sketching, visualization, and presentation skills.
  • Strong communication and project management abilities.
  • A professional portfolio showcasing past design projects is required.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with luxury or bespoke furniture design.
  • Familiarity with local and international furniture trends.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
