Description

Summary

The Loan Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all loan origination, servicing, and closing activities comply with federal, state, and institutional regulations. This role will also assist in maintaining internal policies and procedures to minimize risk, prevent fraud, and guarantee that the company remains in good standing with regulatory agencies. The Loan Compliance Analyst will work closely with various departments, including legal, operations, and risk management, to ensure adherence to all lending laws and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring:

  • Review loan documentation for CSG Projects, including financing for residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar installations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations specific to the solar energy industry, including Investment Tax Credits (ITC) and other clean energy financing incentives.
  • Stay up to date with changes in energy policy, tax incentives, and financing regulations impacting the solar energy sector.

Risk Management
  • Identify and assess compliance risks related to solar energy project financing, ensuring loans are aligned with government programs, tax credits, and energy incentives.
  • Investigate any compliance violations related to solar financing and collaborate with legal and management teams to resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce risks related to the lending process in renewable energy financing.

Internal Policies & Procedures
  • Ensure that loan processes related to CSG Projects comply with both internal company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with the solar project finance, underwriting, and legal teams to review and revise lending policies and ensure proper documentation.
  • Create, update, and maintain compliance guidelines and checklists specifically for solar project financing.

Training & Awareness
  • Educate internal teams on the implications of policy changes related to solar incentives, energy grants, and tax credits.

Audit & Reporting
  • Prepare detailed compliance reports on loan portfolios associated with solar projects, including adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support for loan compliance reviews.
  • Submit periodic compliance reports to senior management, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders as needed.

Stakeholder Communication & External Relations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during energy-specific audits and compliance reviews.
  • Work closely with government agencies to understand regulatory changes in renewable energy lending and financing programs.
  • Provide expert guidance on compliance issues affecting solar project financing, including tax credits and government incentives.

Requirements

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some bending, stooping, walking, and standing is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, in the office Monday – Friday (8-hour workdays).

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education And Experience
  • 2+ years in Loan Compliance
  • Bachelor's in Finance, Business Administration, Environmental Policy, or a related field
  • Knowledge of federal and state energy incentives and tax credits, such as ITC, Production Tax Credit (PTC), and Green Loan Programs.
  • Familiarity with regulations governing renewable energy financing, including energy subsidies, grants, and energy efficiency programs.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple projects
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Works well independently as well as with other members of the team
  • Ability to be consistently accurate and maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Preferred Education And Experience
  • Certifications in Regulatory Compliance (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager - CRCM) or energy-related certifications are a plus.
  • Self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of appropriate allocation of work and good prioritization skills
