Operations Executive – Ocean Freight - Export


What you will do

As an Operations Executive – Ocean Freight - Export, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with ocean carriers, negotiating competitive rates, and addressing customer concerns to ensure satisfaction. You will also continuously assess customer needs, market trends, and competitors to enhance service offerings and maintain a competitive edge. You will:

  • Manage file creation and associated services for ocean freight export products (FCL/LCL).
  • Ensure proper execution of jobs through documentation management.
  • Assist customers and sales team with export inquiries.
  • Support account start-up and provide necessary documentation/information.
  • Liaise with DPW Logistics Network for optimal service assistance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with ocean carriers to secure the best solutions (capacity and cost).
  • Manage export documentation and procedures/SOP agreed with the customers.
  • Manage container consolidation data and related documentations.
  • Provide clients with comprehensive shipment updates.
  • Respond promptly to any emergency situations that may arise.
  • Identify and improve operational issues, including on-time delivery and data entry.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain freight security in accordance with procedures.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelors.
  • PIFFA diploma will be given preference.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant and recent experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding, Export Operations and Customer Services.

Competency and Skill Requirement

  • Proficient Communication (Oral & Written) - Fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Freight Forwarding Industry.
  • Experience with Purchase Order (PO) management system.
  • Knowledge of the complete export cycle and documentation involved, with command of Incoterms.
  • Hands-on experience handling export documentation and coordination with carriers.
  • Drives effective execution of initiatives, ensuring accuracy and efficiency for Clients and Network offices through planning and follow-up.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with Clients, Carriers, and Network Offices.
