Responsibilities:

The position of Deputy Chief Engineer - Civil exists for the purpose of overseeing civil engineering endeavors within SSGC. This position involves supervising a team of dedicated civil engineers, ensuring the successful execution of projects related to the development and maintenance of natural gas infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan the execution of civil engineering projects.
  • Lead and monitor the projects' progress to ensure successful execution.
  • Provide strategic leadership in civil engineering initiatives, aligning efforts with SSGC's overall goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and supervise a team of civil engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and leadership to ensure project success and the professional development of the team.
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance measures for civil designs, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards in all civil engineering deliverables.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of civil infrastructure related to natural gas transmission, ensuring that projects meet environmental, safety, and sustainability requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and relevant departments to allocate resources effectively for civil engineering projects.
  • Manage budgets to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Engage with vendors to ensure the selection of reliable and cost-effective civil works.
  • Actively contribute to the execution of civil works, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure that civil engineering components adhere to relevant standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Identify and assess risks under their management/ownership.
  • Develop and implement risk response strategies for the risks under their management.
  • Monitor risks and response strategies under their management.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information provided for risk reporting.
  • Undertake any other task as assigned by superiors.
