We are looking for a skilled Senior Data Scientist and leader to join our rapidly growing startup, Lumida Wealth, based in New York City.

About the Role:

This role focuses on asset classes including equities, digital assets, and macro. You will work closely with our CIO and engineering team to build and backtest factor models, and develop various trading strategies. Projects will include generating and modelling factor returns and correlations across a range of asset classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis on equities, crypto assets, and factors influencing market behavior.
  • Develop, test, and deploy data models using Python and other ML / AI tools.
  • Integrate and manage APIs, and set up interactive dashboards for real-time data visualization.
  • Utilize quantitative finance libraries (Pandas, NumPy, QuantLib) for data manipulation and model development and visualization.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate and visualize data science insights into our broader investment processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A proven track record of competing in data science competitions (e.g., Kaggle) is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with data science techniques including data preparation, missing imputation, and data transformation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in data science, ideally with a focus on financial markets.
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating APIs and building user-friendly dashboards.
  • Strong knowledge of quantitative finance and statistical analysis, including experience with relevant libraries (Pandas, NumPy, QuantLib).
