Role Description

The Manager Accounts is responsible for handling all accounting and financial tasks for the company, including managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with authority matrices, reviewing reports for KPIs, and overseeing intercompany transactions between Alpha and HDP. This hands-on role requires preparing detailed reports, maintaining compliance, and actively supporting business operations in the absence of a large support team.

Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Reporting:


• Manage all accounting tasks, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and reconciliations.


• Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.


• Review and ensure accuracy in financial reports related to KPIs, profitability, and operational performance.

Compliance and Controls:


• Ensure compliance with the company's authority matrix and financial policies.


• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure all accounting practices meet regulatory and company standards.

Budgeting and Analysis:


• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for management review.


• Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

Intercompany Transactions:


• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions between Alpha and HDP, ensuring accurate and timely recording.


• Prepare intercompany agreements and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Taxation and Regulatory Compliance:


• Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., VAT, income tax, withholding tax), ensuring compliance with local regulations.


• Liaise with tax authorities and manage correspondence related to tax audits or inquiries.

Qualifications

Education:


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.


• Must have a recognized accounting certification such as CMA, CA, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification.

Experience:


• 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial management.


• Must have completed at least 3 years of articleship.
