The role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Material Engineer to join our team for a prestigious Hydropower project based in Lower Kohistan, KPK. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in material science and engineering, with substantial experience in managing materials for large-scale civil engineering projects, particularly in hydropower developments.
- Oversee and manage the sourcing, procurement, and quality control of materials required for the Hydropower project.
- Ensure materials meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess the quality and suitability of materials used in construction activities.
- Monitor and coordinate material testing, including strength, durability, and safety tests, in collaboration with laboratories and other stakeholders.
- Review and maintain documentation related to material certifications, approvals, and inventory management.
- Liaise with project engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective material deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations related to material handling and storage.
With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Tertiary qualifications or a related discipline (e.g. B.Sc/BS in Geology).
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Material Engineer, preferably in hydropower or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of materials used in construction, including concrete, steel, and geotechnical materials.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a remote field environment.
