Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on AI Engineer with deep experience in the healthcare industry to lead and build AI initiatives from the ground up. This is a foundational role in our startup journey — perfect for someone who wants to build something meaningful from scratch. While you will lead a team, this is not just a managerial role — we are looking for a true builder with strong technical expertise and leadership potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models tailored for healthcare applications (e.g., diagnostics, medical imaging, EHR data analysis, predictive analytics, NLP for clinical documentation, etc.).
  • Lay down the tech foundation and architecture for Rinova.ai's AI-driven healthcare products.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of AI engineers and data scientists as the company scales.
  • Collaborate closely with product, clinical, and engineering teams to define and execute key use cases.
  • Work with various types of healthcare data (structured and unstructured), ensuring compliance with privacy and security regulations like HIPAA and GDPR.
  • Implement scalable ML pipelines using modern frameworks and cloud platforms.
  • Keep pace with advancements in AI, particularly in healthcare, and bring innovative ideas to the table.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with at least 2 years in healthcare-focused roles.
  • Proven experience building AI/ML solutions from scratch, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Strong hands-on skills with ML/DL frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), NLP (transformers, LLMs), and data processing.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (EHR, FHIR, DICOM, HL7) and medical ontologies (ICD-10, SNOMED).
  • Understanding of HIPAA and other healthcare compliance protocols.
  • Cloud deployment experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) and strong Python programming skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a startup or early-stage product team.
  • Prior contributions to healthcare AI publications or patents.
  • Familiarity with ML Ops tools and infrastructure.
