This role will be responsible to develop, direct and provide leadership for the implementation and continuous improvement of the plant's analytical quality systems, processes and records.This role also ensures compliance with regulatory and customer requirements and work with the site management team to make these systems consistent, practical and cost effective.

As Quality Control Lead, you will use technical expertise, knowledge of the corn wet milling business, and an understanding of company goals to work with Operations, Quality Assurance and customer to assure product quality.In this role, you will report to Plant Quality Assurance Manager and will oversee a team of 5.

What will you do:

• Quality & Data Analysis – Lead the QC team to produce precise, accurate and timely test and calibration data and acts as the technical expert and to maintain accurate and functional quality records on QC expectations for plant personnel. Maintain and monitor Corn Refiner Association program check sample program for facility. Ensures that non-routine testing is performed in a timely manner, including any testing done by an outside lab and maintaining the reports.
• Innovation and Development - Conduct Out of Specification investigations and maintain records and monitor OOS trends. Drive continuous improvements. Apply scientific methodology, use of root cause and statistical analysis tools to support recommendations for process improvements. Develop and implement new QC procedures as needed and review, revise and improve existing systems on a periodic basis.
• Cross functional Collaboration and Communications – Work with operations and quality assurance to understand current demands on laboratory services. Direct the operation of the plant QC team to ensure the timely and proper release of products based on effective sampling, accurate and appropriate testing. Ensure SAP data is up to date and that relevant business processes are followed. Communicate trends and significant findings to management. Ability to effect change through persuasion and good communication.
• Training & Development – Provide training and technical support to Sample men, Analysts, Chemist, Sr. Chemist in the use of applicable analytical equipment and methodologies. Development and effective analytical training of Lab employees to comply with QC programs.

What will you bring:

• Bachelors & Masters in Chemistry, Food Technology
• 8 yea rs' expe rience in Food or Pharma industry with experience within chemical labo ratory
• Exceptional communication skills
