- Extensive knowledge of building regulations, construction processes, safety codes, and environmental standards.
- Establish and implement departmental goals, objectives, and performance metrics, aligning with the overall organizational strategy.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the building control department, ensuring all projects comply with relevant legislation, codes, and safety standards.
- Manage the review, inspection, and certification of building plans, designs, and construction processes to ensure compliance with building regulations.
- Provide guidance and expertise on complex building control issues, offering solutions to challenges that arise during the construction process.
- Ensure that all building control services are delivered in compliance with the latest legislation, standards, and safety protocols.
- Conduct audits and inspections to monitor adherence to building codes and identify potential risks or issues.
- Manage the budget and financial resources for the building control department, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Allocate resources efficiently, ensuring the department is properly staffed and equipped to handle ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping of all building control activities, reports, inspections, and certifications.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators, issues, and progress of ongoing projects.
