Community Based Protection Officer (Male) - Lahore

Summary of Key Functions

The Community Protection Officer will focus on case management services, strengthening community-based protection mechanisms, information dissemination, and providing psychosocial counseling. The officer will build capacities of Outreach Volunteers, facilitate access to services, and support youth-led initiatives. The officer will report to the Project Manager and work closely with protection groups in refugee settlement areas.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate all stages of community-based action plans by empowering and mentoring community groups through participatory approaches.
  2. Create a safe environment conducive to dialogue and uphold community-based protection mechanisms.
  3. Implement field activities daily according to operational priorities.
  4. Serve as a frontline contact with the community and Outreach Volunteers, supporting them to resolve issues and strengthen referral mechanisms.
  5. Build capacity of community structures and protection committees.
  6. Identify individuals with specific needs, disabilities, or at risk requiring urgent support.
  7. Facilitate access to services and improve referral pathways with community structures.
  8. Work with Outreach Volunteers to identify and support cases needing individualized support.
  9. Raise community awareness about available services and providers.
  10. Ensure inclusion of women and persons with disabilities in community activities.
  11. Support community structures in developing and adhering to yearly plans, ensuring they have necessary resources.
  12. Advocate for community participation, especially for female refugees, in health, education, and skill-building opportunities.
  13. Establish relationships with religious, community leaders, and influential persons.
  14. Support social reintegration of individual cases.
  15. Collaborate with monitoring and evaluation teams to organize feedback sessions and relay community concerns.
  16. Manage community-based protection activities in refugee settlements.
  17. Collect and input data for M&E purposes.
  18. Plan and conduct meetings, trainings, and awareness campaigns.
  19. Ensure community participation throughout programming stages.
  20. Guide Outreach Volunteers in mobilization, counseling, and community engagement activities.
  21. Coordinate with partner organizations and NGOs for community mobilization and awareness initiatives.
  22. Track reported cases within the community and office.
  23. Prepare work plans and activity reports as required.
  24. Participate in coordination meetings as assigned.
  25. Ensure proper documentation of reports and meeting minutes.
