The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. In addition to the tertiary care hospital in Karachi, AKUH has a network of 4 Off-Campus Hospitals, 30+ Medical Centres, and over 290+ Clinical Laboratories, 30+ Pharmacies in over 120+ cities across Pakistan. It also offers Home Healthcare Services and home deliveries of medicines. The hospital provides zakat for those patients who are eligible, and the health systems offer generous patient welfare to support those in financial need. In recognition of its high quality and patient safety, the AKUH is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Centre and its Clinical Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for fast and accurate testing.
Responsibilities- Provide operational oversight to strengthen administrative and management functions
- Manage daily operations of assigned departments and ensure all issues are dealt promptly and effectively
- Handle patients' queries by taking periodic rounds to ensure smooth operations in assigned areas for keeping customers satisfied
- Coordinate with faculty, nursing, and other administrative support services staff to ensure smooth operations and service delivery
- Supervise and evaluate staff performance, identify training needs, develop career plans, and trim poor performers through specified process and system with the support of HR
- Act as Safety Coordinator of the hospital, which involves taking a daily round of the hospital and ensure that all issues and complaints are timely reported and addressed
- Develop and implement cost-effective marketing strategies and ensure achievement of volumes and revenue targets
- Conduct sessions/activities to enhance the awareness of services
- Handle patient complaints and deal with crisis situations in a professional manner
- Provide patient-centric orientation to all staff for the provision of high-quality health care services
- Facilitate all internal and external audits/surveys conducted for ISO-9001:2015 and SafeCare
- Work as an 'Administrator On-call' on holidays and after working hours, as and when required, and visit the hospital to solve issues that require immediate attention
- Facilitate in the development of an integrated health care system of primary, secondary, and tertiary care hospitals to provide patients easy access to quality care services
- A Master's degree, preferably in Business Administration
- At least three years of related experience in the service industry, preferably in a healthcare organization of good repute
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well in English and Urdu languages
- Ability to multi-task and effectively work in teams as well as independently
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of budgeting and proficiency in the use of computers
- Willingness to work in shifts, if required
