The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high quality undergraduate and postgraduate training and subspecialty trainings and research opportunities. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of a paediatric ward with two units comprising of 84 beds, a state of art Neonatal Intensive care unit with latest equipment and protocols in place and a capacity of 24 high acuity beds with one is to one staffing along with 10 bedded level 2 care monitored cots. The Neonatal section offers a 2 year Neonatal fellowship training and is one the oldest and established fellowship program with 6 fellows. In addition to care for sick babies, the section also provides services along with paediatric consultants to the well baby in the post-natal wards.

You will be responsible to:

• dispense drugs in the inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory pharmacies
• review and process physician orders for accurate therapeutic doses
• monitor laboratory reports for proper indication of antibiotics, drug to drug interactions, duplication of same class etc
• ensure timely delivery of medication to nursing units and patients
• ensure accuracy of the labels before dispensing
• complete expiry of drug list accurately and on timely-basis
• assist in patient counseling for outpatient prescription and maintenance of cash
• prepare cytotoxic drug, TPN solution, IVPB mixtures, sterile injection, bulk compounding and monitor chemo critical list.

You should have:

• a Doctorate / Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university
• current registration with pharmacy council Pakistan
• at least one year experience in a reputable organization
• familiarity with hospital pharmacy functioning and processes
• sound knowledge of physiology, pharmacology and pharmaceutical concepts
• knowledge of locally available drugs, pharmaceutical drugs and their indications
• excellent communication skills, particularly with medical professionals and patients
• willingness to work in shift duties
