The Aga Khan University Hospital, along with its five Hospitals, extends access through Outreach Services, including Clinical Laboratories, Outpatient Medical Centres, Pharmacy services, Home Health, and other services. These Outreach Services aim to provide primary to secondary healthcare to patients near their homes across several cities in Pakistan. Outpatient Medical Centres offer a variety of specialty clinics such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiopulmonary, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Physiotherapy, catering to children, adults, and the elderly for general health checks or specific disease consultations.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for preparing food for hospital patients, employees, students, and during special occasions. You will report food safety concerns and other issues to the relevant authorities. Specifically, your duties include:
- Ensuring the quality, texture, and flavor of patient and non-patient meals meet set standards
- Cooking food and preparing hot entrees according to the daily menu with standardized recipes or as directed
- Ensuring safe usage of kitchen equipment and monitoring their need for repairs
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of workstations and cooking equipment as per standards
- Cleaning and maintaining hygiene and sanitation of kitchen areas according to set standards
The candidate should have:
- Matriculation or equivalent qualification, preferably with a certificate or training in cookery from a recognized institution
- At least four years of relevant experience in hospital, hotel, airline, or restaurant industries
- Knowledge of menus, recipes, preparation terminologies, and quantity cooking techniques
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation principles
- Ability to operate kitchen utensils and equipment
- Proficiency in reading and writing in Urdu and English
- A respectful attitude towards supervisors and colleagues
- Ability to work effectively in teams and willingness to work in shifts
