Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Freight Broker at Delray Logistics located in Islamabad. The Freight Broker will be responsible for:

  1. Negotiating transportation contracts with common carriers, shipping lines, and freight forwarders.
  2. Providing clients with accurate and timely information regarding freight movements.
  3. Managing the movement of goods by preparing bills of lading, inventory reports, shipment schedules, and other documents.
  4. Advising clients on freight charges, routing, and freight options.
  5. Developing and maintaining relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and suppliers.
  6. Producing reports detailing freight movement, service, and carrier performance.
  7. Working closely with accounting to manage workflow.
  8. Conducting sales calls and making sales presentations.
  9. Identifying, qualifying, and negotiating freight contracts.
  10. Overseeing all freight activities.
  11. Tracking shipments and ensuring timely receipt and payment.
  12. Deciding on shipping routes, costs, and services.
  13. Conducting load surveys and inspecting freight identifications.
  14. Investigating claims of damage, missing items, or poor service.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of the trucking industry and brokerage operations.
  • A proven sales track record with the ability to close deals.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Skills in Freight Brokerage and Dispatching.
  • Customer Service and Account Management skills.
  • Dispatching skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the logistics industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in freight brokerage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer skills.
  • Professional, friendly, and reliable communication skills.
