Project Manager – IT

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Project Manager - IT to lead and manage complex technology projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT project management, with a proven ability to successfully plan, execute, and oversee projects that align with business objectives. The Project Manager - IT will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, ensuring that all initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage cross-functional teams and multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:Project Planning & Strategy:

• Lead the end-to-end management of IT projects, from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, deliverables, schedules, resources, and budgets.
• Define and manage project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Identify and allocate necessary resources to project teams, ensuring all team members have the required tools and skills to complete the project successfully.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related matters, engaging with senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Regularly communicate project progress, key milestones, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
• Conduct meetings with stakeholders to gather and define requirements, ensuring that the project scope remains aligned with business needs.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure seamless collaboration and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Risk & Issue Management:

• Proactively identify and assess potential project risks and roadblocks, developing effective mitigation strategies.
• Resolve project-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and deliverables.
• Monitor and manage project risks, escalate issues where appropriate, and drive resolutions through collaboration with stakeholders.

Project Execution & Monitoring:

• Oversee the execution of IT projects by managing resources, timelines, and budgets, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within scope.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, project specifications, and business requirements.
• Continuously track project performance, comparing actual progress against planned progress, and adjust project plans as necessary to stay on track.
• Ensure all projects follow the organization's project management methodologies and best practices.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead, motivate, and support cross-functional project teams, including developers, analysts, engineers, and other IT professionals.
• Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and teamwork.
• Ensure that team members are equipped with the appropriate skills, training, and resources to meet project requirements.

Budget & Resource Management:

• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently, and project expenditures are kept within the established financial constraints.
• Ensure proper resource allocation across multiple projects, balancing priorities and ensuring that resources are used effectively.
• Monitor project costs, providing regular updates to stakeholders on budget status and making adjustments as necessary.

Post-Project Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:

• Conduct post-project evaluations to assess the success of the project and identify areas for improvement.
• Capture lessons learned and integrate them into future project management processes and practices to improve overall efficiency.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of project management standards, templates, and best practices within the organization.

Required Qualifications & Skills:Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Agile or Scrum certification is a plus.

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within an IT environment, with a strong track record of delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget.
• Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and working in collaborative environments.
• Expertise in managing software development, systems integration, network infrastructure, or cloud-based projects is highly desirable.

Technical Competencies:

• Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, cloud technologies, and software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello, Asana, etc.).
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall project management methodologies.
• Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) frameworks or other IT governance methodologies is a plus.
