Job Title

Network Planning and Design Specialist is a key role that involves the end-to-end planning and design of optical transport networks.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of OTN, IPRAN, FTTS, and passive optical fiber infrastructure.

This position requires a self-driven individual who can work under pressure in demanding conditions and identify opportunities for network optimization.

  • Develop comprehensive plans for deploying optical transport systems across new and existing networks.
  • Evaluate vendor-proposed technical solutions to ensure alignment with network standards.
  • Conduct link budget analysis, signal protection planning, and high-level design for transmission infrastructure.
  • Develop strategies for integrating new optical platforms into existing networks.
  • Deliver detailed implementation and migration plans to ensure optimal service provisioning and restoration capabilities.
  • Facilitate integration between the optical transport domain and upper-layer service domains.
  • Prepare and evaluate RFPs for Optical platforms, including Specification, Equipment, and professional services.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including wavelength plans, restoration maps, SOPs, MOPs, link inventories, and fiber route layouts.
  • Develop and maintain MOPs and SOPs for field engineers and technical support teams.
  • Engage continuously with network operations teams to address and optimize ongoing operational challenges.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate project inputs.
Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in optical network planning and transport technologies.

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency in HLD/LLD preparation, link budget calculation, and network integration.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, protocols, and vendor equipment.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective presentation and incident reporting capabilities.
  • Solid project management abilities with attention to detail and timelines.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and within teams.
