Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY

The objective of this position is to support senior management in supervising, monitoring, and analyzing policies and controls regarding fixed assets of SSGC. The role involves coordination with user departments to ensure policy adherence and the safe custody of Fixed Assets. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining fixed asset registers, conducting business analysis, and supporting management on capital expenditure and depreciation trends. The position also involves developing fixed asset schedules for review by senior management and regulatory authorities such as OGRA and the Auditor General of Pakistan.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the integrity between the general ledger and fixed asset system by reconciling changes in fixed asset balances and preparing monthly consolidated roll forward reports.
  • Review periodic Vehicle Dashboard (MIS) and key assets for senior management.
  • Review periodic Accounts & MIS related to Fixed Assets for submission to senior management.
  • Assist the Tariff Section (Regulatory Affairs) in providing MIS reports related to OGRA templates, government, and external auditors.
  • Maintain accurate corporate accounting for assets, depreciation, capital expenditures, and leases in accordance with IFRS/IAS and company policies.
  • Review reconciliation entries of CAPEX and capitalization as per GL and FA modules periodically.
  • Review monthly financial reporting of CAPEX, capitalization of fixed assets, depreciation expenses, and disposals/transfers/adjustments.
  • Review monthly MIS reports, including CAPEX and trend analysis, and project budgets and CWIP.
  • Support senior management with monthly and quarterly reports on capital spending, intangibles, and fixed asset schedules with footnotes.
  • Coordinate with civil works regarding the costs of capital projects for building construction.
  • Monitor the compilation of civil project costs to fixed asset accounts and close out accounts upon project completion.
  • Recommend updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
  • Review tax schedules related to fixed assets for the Taxation Department.
  • Ensure compliance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and the company's code of conduct and ethics policies.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by senior management.
