PHC is currently seeking a Senior Research Associate to join our team in Lahore. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with 1 to 3 years of experience in the health sector, particularly in research and grant/proposal development. This role demands strong analytical, writing, and project coordination skills, as well as a willingness to travel for fieldwork, stakeholder engagement, and project oversight.

This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to research that informs health policy and practice, while working within a collaborative and mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of qualitative and quantitative health research studies.
  • Conduct literature reviews, develop research tools, and support protocol development.
  • Analyze research data and contribute to technical reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
  • Ensure research methodologies and outputs meet ethical standards and quality benchmarks.
  • Draft compelling, well-structured grant proposals and technical submissions to local and international donors.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare concept notes, budgets, and supporting documents.
  • Monitor funding opportunities and proactively engage in business development efforts.
  • Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of ongoing research and consultancy projects.
  • Coordinate with field teams, data collectors, and partner organizations to ensure timely implementation.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to internal and external reporting.
  • Represent PHC in meetings with clients, government agencies, and funding bodies.
  • Facilitate interviews, focus group discussions, and workshops as required by project activities.
  • Travel within and occasionally outside of Lahore for data collection, site visits, and stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year and up to 3 years of relevant experience in the health sector, preferably in research, consulting, or development organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in grant and proposal writing for international donors (e.g., USAID, WHO, Global Fund, etc.).
  • Strong command of research methodologies, data analysis techniques, and ethical research practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Urdu is a plus.
  • Highly proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically for fieldwork and project needs.
