The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a dynamic academic centre which serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services that spreads across Pakistan. AKUH's Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab at the main campus and 300+ specimen collection units and 13 stat labs across Pakistan. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consists of five major sections namely Chemical Pathology, Haematology and Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and is highly engaged in research and undergraduate, postgraduate teaching and training.

Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Senior research Assistant in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for:
- assisting in the ongoing research projects related to AKU-FHS Fungal Infection Research group
- performing bench work, isolate storage, inventory ordering, and storage of the reagents and kits.
- data entry and analysis
- supporting residents in their research projects related to fungal infections and resistance
- complying with institutional and laboratory safety protocols
- optimizing protocols for lab-developed tests.
You should have :
- Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of related experience. Masters preferred
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- proficiency in the use of computer applications
- ability to multitask
- ability to adapt to organizational change
- an understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities.
- experience of maintaining and developing academic, research and teaching skills
- relevant research experience.
