Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Java/J2EE Technologies).

The Senior Software Engineer will enhance product quality and security, conduct market research, align products with security trends, prototype solutions, and refine features. The role involves process improvements and automation to ensure product excellence, translating strategic insights into tangible impacts while upholding Ascertia's commitment to secure, high-quality products.

The candidate will design, develop, test, maintain, and support Java applications. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing in CoreJava 8, Java 11, JDBC, MVC/Hibernate
  • Applying object-oriented design patterns and techniques
  • Working with J2EE (Servlet/JSP), Tomcat, Gradle
  • Designing and developing software architecture (JNDI, Java Mail API, Java Sockets, Multithreading)
  • Using version control tools like GIT, Bitbucket
  • Integrating Web services and REST APIs (JAX-RS, JAX-WS)
  • Working with frontend technologies such as Struts v2, CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript
  • Managing relational databases like MySQL, Oracle, Postgres
  • Utilizing open-source libraries (Log4J, POI, Jakarta Commons, Apache Oltu)
  • Configuring web/application servers (Apache, Tomcat, IIS)
  • Handling JSON, XML data formats
  • Writing unit tests with JUnit and practicing test-driven development
Skills Required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player with full application development lifecycle experience
  • Knowledge in cryptography, PKI, digital signatures, Linux, Agile/Scrum, and C# programming is a plus
