Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to oversee Storage Area Network (SAN) backup infrastructure within SSGC, lead a team of skilled professionals to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of SSGC databases.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain enterprise SAN Backup Architecture (currently hosted on IBM hardware, AIX operating system, and centralized storage system). The architecture may be hosted on other platforms.
  • Ensure that SAN Backup architecture safeguards critical data and ensures data recovery capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to backup efficiency, scalability, and security.
  • Conduct regular assessments of SAN infrastructure to proactively identify areas of improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Develop and enforce backup policies and procedures to ensure data consistency, regulatory compliance, and security standards.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
  • Plan and conduct periodic drills and tests to validate disaster recovery processes.
  • Undertake incident management activities for backup and archiving infrastructure.
  • Develop technical expertise on backup and storage systems, along with associated processes and procedures.
  • Communicate relevant backup processes and procedures to all concerned for effective implementation.
  • Ensure data backup of critical business machines.
  • Supervise coordination with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Prepare RFP/RFQ for procurement processes, SLAs, etc.
  • Propose and manage budget allocations for OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Ensure compliance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and company policies.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
