As Head of Academic Innovation, you will unify our diverse school models, elevate academic leadership, and champion a movement grounded in rigorous learning science. This role focuses on leadership, strategy, and execution to transform our scientific approach into operational excellence and global advocacy.

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop academic frameworks that translate cutting-edge learning science into actionable curricula, motivational systems, and app designs.
• Oversee academic performance reviews across Heads of Academics to ensure alignment, accountability, and positive outcomes in school teams.
• Analyze data, conduct interviews, and observe to create comprehensive academic ecosystem reviews, identify barriers to accelerated learning, and propose actionable interventions.
• Ensure strategic alignment through meticulous planning, feedback mechanisms, and milestone tracking to keep the focus on student learning goals.
• Represent 2 Hour Learning on prestigious platforms, from keynote speeches to sessions with educational leaders, advocating for systemic change in global education perspectives.

• Engaging in isolated curriculum projects without fostering systemic educational change.
• Publishing abstract research lacking direct applicability to student outcomes or execution.
• Shifting accountability for performance to middle management or external consultants.
• Depending solely on brand reputation or theoretical arguments to convince skeptical audiences.

Head Of Academic Innovation — Key Responsibilities

Lead the expansion and enhancement of 2 Hour Learning's successful academic model by harmonizing execution across schools, elevating leadership standards, and becoming the public advocate of a science-based and results-driven educational movement.

Basic Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience leading academic or EdTech teams with proven exceptional learning outcomes
• Demonstrated experience in utilizing AI or technology to enhance learning processes
• Established record of public thought leadership, including media appearances, keynote speeches, publications, or advisory roles
• Strong skills in performance management, with the ability to maintain high standards among elite peers
• Proficiency in data analysis to diagnose learning challenges and implement targeted interventions
• Comfortable interacting with students, parents, and educational leaders directly

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Experience in founding or leading an innovative school model, lab school, or high-performing EdTech initiative
• Familiarity with navigating cultural, political, or international educational environments
• In-depth knowledge of Bloom's 2 Sigma research and other mastery learning frameworks

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
