Senior Research Assistant

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for the betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

ResponsibilitiesYou should work with the Principal Investigator / Research supervisor on a research project in order to investigate / establish the aims and objectives of the research project. Specific responsibilities will include:
- collect data using digital tools as per project protocol.
- conduct maternal and newborn anthropometric measurements.
- perform household visits in line with study procedures.
- conduct household visits as per project protocol.
- coordinate regularly with project supervisors to discuss field-related activities.
- provide appropriate counselling to study participants.
- maintain all project data in an organized and confidential manner.
- plan and conduct awareness sessions within the community if required.
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- strong teamwork skills
- good writing skills
- basic knowledge of survey and other research designs
- ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
- resilience and ability to cope with work pressure
- willing to work in the communities/field sites
- good computer and report writing skills
