Professor / Associate / Assistant Professor will facilitate Head of Department to manage and supervise the clinical / academic activities of the department and patient care. He/She will assign/delegate duties to the Senior Registrars/Registrar staff for smooth functioning of the department regarding patient care, teaching, and training of the students. He/She will manage, supervise, and train PGs/MOs/HOs and other paramedical staff. He/She will also coordinate and collaborate with hospital administration to ensure quality education to students and health services to the patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Arrange and deliver lectures, seminars, clinical and practical skills, small group discussions, evaluation, and assessment according to the curriculum for MBBS/BDS students.
  • Facilitate postgraduate trainees (FCPS and DCPS) for clinical presentations, small group discussions, case-based and problem-based teaching, journal club, teaching psychomotor skills, and preparation for inter-module examinations and dissertation.
  • Assist the Head of Department/Professor in organizing CPC/clinical meetings and conferences in collaboration with other professional organizations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate faculty members and postgraduate trainees in the area of research and development through continuous education and a learning environment, and facilitate their publication requirements as part of career development research activities of the department.
  • Convey knowledge for basic management of common patient care problems, including emergency treatment, management of emergencies, and decision-making for appropriate treatment to develop clinical and practical skills of students.
  • Assist and facilitate the Head of Department in conducting examinations of MBBS/BDS.
  • Ensure regular OPD sessions for continuing medical care and manage/supervise new patients referred for specialist advice.
  • Ensure regular clinical rounds of the ward to manage/supervise progress and care of indoor patients.
  • Conduct medical procedures in the ward under the supervision of senior consultants and develop a proper monitoring mechanism to ensure that all recommended diagnostics and investigations are carried out.
  • Provide specialist advice on medical problems of patients referred from other departments.
  • Assess patients in the emergency department if required for consultancy.
  • Ensure on-call commitments after regular duty hours to provide cover to critical patients round the clock.
  • Assist the Head of Department/Professor in departmental confidential inquiries of mortalities.
  • Manage, supervise, and train PGs/MOs/HOs and other paramedical staff to ensure delivery of quality health services to patients and enhance patient management skills of the staff.
  • Prepare and monitor duty rota for the department, including paramedical staff, and manage and resolve staff management and placement issues.
  • Maintain close liaison with hospital administration to ensure proper ward management, including patient clinical records and routine matters related to demand, supply, and complaints.
  • Must follow Islamic and medical ethics as per IIMCT mission statement.
