Overview

We are an established UK-based accounting firm seeking an experienced Accountant Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, manage client relationships, and lead our accounting team. The ideal candidate should have an understanding background in GAAP standards, tax knowledge, excellent communication skills, and proven leadership experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage client communications, respond to queries, and maintain high service standards
  • Prepare Company accounts
  • Prepare and review Corporation tax returns
  • Prepare and review Self Assessment tax returns
  • Oversee and support junior accounting staff, including work review and training
  • Monitor and ensure timely delivery of client work and compliance with deadlines
  • Maintain internal processes and workflows for efficiency and accuracy
  • Act as a key point of contact between the firm and its clients
Required Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 5 years of UK accounting experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff and oversee workloads in a remote setting
  • C1-level English proficiency (verbal and written) – essential for client communication
  • Advanced Excel skills – including pivot tables, xlookups and other formulas
  • Experience working in a client-facing role within an accounting practice
  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • ACCA or equivalent
  • Experience in an accounting firm
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Iris Elements, etc.)
