Senior Registrar Gynaecology

The faculty member will assist and facilitate the Head of Department in managing and supervising the clinical and academic activities of the department, as well as patient care. He/she will delegate duties to the Registrar and other staff to ensure smooth functioning regarding patient care, teaching, and training of students. The role includes managing, supervising, and training PGs, MOs, HOs, and other paramedical staff. Additionally, the faculty will coordinate with hospital administration to ensure quality education for students and health services for patients.

Qualifications: MBBS and FCPS in relevant specialty.

Eligibility Criteria: As per PM&DC guidelines.

Responsibilities:

1. Arrange and deliver lectures, seminars, clinical and practical skills sessions, small group discussions, evaluation, and assessment for MBBS/BDS students according to curriculum.
2. Facilitate postgraduate trainees (FCPS and DCPS) in clinical presentations, small group discussions, case-based and problem-based teaching, journal clubs, psychomotor skills training, and preparation for exams and dissertations.
3. Assist the Head of Department/Professor in organizing CPCs, clinical meetings, and conferences in collaboration with professional organizations.
4. Coordinate and support faculty and postgraduate trainees in research activities, publication requirements, and career development.
5. Convey knowledge on basic management of common patient care issues, emergency treatment, and decision-making to develop students' clinical skills.
6. Assist in organizing MBBS/BDS examinations.
7. Ensure regular outpatient department (OPD) sessions and manage new patient referrals for specialist advice.
8. Supervise ward rounds, monitor patient progress, and manage inpatient care.
9. Perform medical procedures under supervision, ensuring diagnostics and investigations are completed appropriately.
10. Provide specialist advice on medical issues referred from other departments.
11. Assess patients in the emergency department as needed for consultancy.
12. Participate in on-call duties to provide 24/7 coverage for critical patients.
13. Assist in departmental inquiries concerning mortalities.
14. Manage, supervise, and train postgraduate trainees and paramedical staff to ensure quality patient care and staff development.
15. Prepare and monitor departmental duty rosters, resolve staff management issues.
16. Maintain liaison with hospital administration regarding ward management, patient records, and routine matters.
