P&O Technician

• Fabricate and assemble prosthetic and orthotic devices, including component parts, sockets, and suspension systems under the instruction and design advised by the Prosthetist/Orthotist.
• Follow proper procedures and keep records of issuance of any materials and components from the store.
• Update the Supervisor about stock consumption and the required stock in a timely manner.
• Assist the P&O in casting and modification.
• Perform draping (molding), laminations, cutting, finishing, reverting, and making soft inserts (liners).
• Perform bench alignment of devices as per specifications and instructions of the P&O.
• Assist the P&O in modifications during fitting and gait training processes.
• Perform final operations on all devices, including alignment and use of transfer tools and equipment to ensure devices meet required standards, ensuring patient safety and biomechanical correction.
• Ensure maintenance of machinery and tools daily, including oiling and cleaning.
• Report any relevant information regarding the device to the P&O.
• Participate in follow-up procedures and repair of orthotic/prosthetic devices.
• Maintain strict confidentiality as per staff regulations.
• Observe protocols and regulations of the center.
• Follow safety precautions, such as wearing goggles, gloves, and masks while working on machines and tools to prevent health and safety hazards.
• Ensure production targets are met according to standards and instructions from the Supervisor.
