Technical Market Development Officer

This role requires technical excellence and good market insight to support commercial and technical development in Pakistan. Develop close liaison with R&D and marketing teams to aid in planning and launching of NPI. Lead as a technical expert to bring sustainable solutions that meet long-term customer needs. Identify new technologies to develop integrated solutions addressing grower problems.

Territorial Business Accountabilities

  1. Identify portfolio gaps for key field crops and vegetables; provide proposals.
  2. Maintain close liaison with R&D team to understand new developments at Syngenta.
  3. Manage successful pre-launch demonstrations in coordination with sales and commercial teams.
  4. Organize pre-launch field days with the sales team at demonstration sites.
  5. Collaborate with R&D colleagues for technical assistance.
  6. Develop and execute plans as per the line manager's guidance.
  7. Innovate ideas and thinking to build confidence within commercial teams.
  8. Leverage new technology to share findings with customers innovatively.
  9. Monitor competition activities and new developments in agriculture.
  10. Establish contacts with research institutes and academia for updates on agricultural developments.
  11. Engage with farmers to understand their problems and offer technical, sustainable solutions.
  12. Identify key challenges in Pakistan agriculture and consult to find innovative solutions.
  13. Develop a Learning and Development Center focused on crop programs and stakeholder confidence building regarding NPIs.

Critical knowledge

  • Strong techno-commercial background.
  • Preferably a master's degree in Entomology, Pathology, or Agronomy.
  • Updated knowledge of key crops in Pakistan.
  • Knowledge of important insects and pests of these crops.
  • Experience in farm management.

Critical Experience

  • Good knowledge of crops, pests, and pesticides.
  • Expertise in application techniques, trial layout, pest identification, data collection, and digital tools.
  • Ability to train others.
