Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Government of Pakistan

The Ministry of National Food Security & Research is seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as National Agri Trade Intelligence & Market Analyst / AI Specialist under the SPPS-III framework. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and deploying AI/ML models, developing real-time trade analytics systems, and leveraging geospatial technologies to enhance Pakistan's agricultural trade competitiveness and policy planning capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement AI/ML models for forecasting agricultural market trends and analyzing trade competitiveness.
  • Design and maintain interactive dashboards for trade intelligence and real-time decision support.
  • Apply GIS and remote sensing tools for SPS compliance monitoring and traceability.
  • Support the digital transformation of agri-export systems and trade-related services.
  • Conduct training workshops for internal capacity building on AI tools and data systems.
  • Generate analytical reports, trade briefs, and policy recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align AI-driven tools with national trade and export strategies.
  • Provide early-warning systems for trade disruptions using automated alerts and predictive insights.

Required Qualification:

  • Minimum 18 years of education (Master's degree or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, GIS & Remote Sensing, or a related field from an HEC-recognized institution.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in AI/ML deployment, preferably within agriculture or trade domains.
  • Agricultural market and trade trend analysis
  • Programming languages (Python, R)
  • GIS, satellite imagery, and remote sensing applications
  • International agricultural trade frameworks and SPS standards
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI's):

  • Deployment of AI model for market prediction (within 6 months)
  • Launch of operational trade analytics dashboard (by end of Q2)
  • Generation of SPS monitoring reports using GIS (2 per year)
  • Conducting capacity-building workshops (minimum 5 per year)
  • Submission of policy briefs and trade competitiveness reports (minimum 4 per year)
  • Integration with Ministry's digital trade systems (100% within 1 year)
