Position: Computer and IT Skills Instructor

Reports To: Program Lead - Vocational Education

Role Overview:

The Computer and IT Skills Instructor will provide basic digital literacy and technology-based learning to children with disabilities. The role focuses on adaptive teaching methods, assistive technology, and skill-building for digital inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:


• Develop and adapt the IT curriculum to meet the specific needs of the program and individual children.


• Design and deliver age-appropriate computer literacy lessons for children with disabilities.


• Introduce basic skills such as typing, using a mouse, navigating software, and internet safety.


• Teach adaptive tools (e.g., screen readers, speech-to-text software) for children with visual, motor, or learning challenges.


• Guide students in creative digital activities like simple coding, graphic design, and interactive storytelling.


• Modify lessons to accommodate individualized learning needs and sensory processing differences.


• Work closely with occupational therapists and special educators to ensure accessibility and engagement.


• Provide hands-on support and structured routines to help students develop digital independence.


• Develop and regularly update Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) for each student.


• Evaluate learning outcomes and track progress through regular assessments.


• Schedule and conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and parent empowerment workshops on Saturdays if necessary to discuss student progress and build capacity.

Qualifications & Experience:


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Special Education, or a related field.


• Experience teaching children with disabilities (preferred).


• Familiarity with assistive technology and accessible software.


• Strong communication and adaptability in instructional methods.


• Patient, creative, and passionate about inclusive digital learning.
