1. Assist FM or FC in carrying out all accounting functions related to the Expenditure/Revenue area of the station.

2. Ensure accurate and timely recording of expense transactions in station books of accounts, assisting FM or FC.

3. Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in station books of accounts, assisting FM or FC.

4. Deputise for the supervisor during leave.

5. Liaise with all department heads at HDQ as required by the supervisor.

6. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

MAIN DUTIES

The Account Officer assists the Finance Manager (FM) or Financial Controller (FC). Responsibilities vary depending on station operations and requirements. The role involves working in both revenue and expenditure areas, with duties tailored accordingly. These duties are indicative and subject to change based on operational needs, laws, and Head Office requirements.

A. EXPENDITURE:

  • Verify documentation and record all expenditure promptly in the Accounts Payable module.
  • Coordinate with department heads for invoice certification or approval.
  • Generate and send remittance advices with checks and original invoices to FM or FC, ensuring signatures before releasing payments.
  • Reimburse petty cash expenses after verifying supporting documents and policy adherence.
  • Prepare disbursement bank account reconciliations; escalate discrepancies to FM or FC.
  • Reconcile supplier balances periodically to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in payroll preparation for local staff under FM or FC guidance.
  • Prepare station accruals and relevant journal vouchers or GIS for posting.
  • Support in preparing station finance budgets.

B. REVENUE:

  • Ensure timely receipt of sales reports and settlements from agents and partners; verify data entry into the EASY system.
  • Submit daily sales and refund reports to HDQ Revenue.
  • Follow up on sales reports from cargo GSA/CSA and record into the system.
  • Report delays in settlements from GSA/BSP/agents/credit card companies.
  • Monitor bank guarantee expiry dates and evaluate exposure levels, discussing shortfalls with FM or FC.
  • Prepare official receipts for all funds received; deposit collections promptly.
  • Create customer reconciliation statements.
  • Monthly bank reconciliation of sales collections; address discrepancies with FC or FM.
  • Manage revenue document stock and record transactions accurately in Inventory Module.
Experience

3-5 years in accounting and finance, preferably with airline expenditure and revenue accounting experience.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
2. Good accounting knowledge.
3. Fluency in written and spoken English.
