POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading project management with the engineering team in JIRA, coordinating product development across various departments, and ensuring that all deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and strategic business objectives.

This role focuses on:

Supervising and managing project execution in JIRA with the engineering team, ensuring deadlines and priorities are met.

Defining and executing the product strategy in alignment with business goals.

Facilitating collaboration between engineering, sales, marketing, and executive leadership.

Leading planning and task allocation within JIRA, ensuring smooth execution.

Balancing speed of delivery with product quality, stability, and scalability.

Maintaining regular communication with clients to guarantee satisfaction and alignment with their expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management in JIRA with the Engineering Team

Supervise and oversee project execution in JIRA, ensuring that all engineering tasks are correctly prioritised and assigned.

Manage and optimise backlogs, sprints, and workflows in JIRA, ensuring that every stage of development progresses according to plan.

Lead sprint planning meetings, backlog refinement, and retrospectives with the engineering team.

Ensure that all tasks have clear acceptance criteria, estimated timelines, and assigned ownership.

Mitigate risks in project execution and proactively resolve blockers.

Monitor project progress in JIRA and generate status reports for stakeholders and executive leadership.

Product Strategy & Vision

Define and execute a comprehensive product strategy, ensuring alignment with commercial and technological objectives.

Develop a clear product roadmap, prioritising features that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

Balance business needs, technical feasibility, and user experience, ensuring a competitive product offering.

Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer support to define product positioning and evolution.

Stakeholder Management & Cross-Department Collaboration

Act as the primary link between engineering, design, marketing, sales, and executive leadership, ensuring a unified product vision.

Ensure that customer and stakeholder expectations are clearly communicated and aligned with available resources.

Provide regular updates to all stakeholders regarding progress, changes, and project roadblocks.

Foster continuous communication with clients, ensuring their feedback is integrated into product iterations and guaranteeing their satisfaction with the final deliverables.

Serve as a facilitator between technical and commercial teams, ensuring that product decisions are both viable and strategically aligned.

Product Development & Execution

Oversee and direct the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from conception to post-launch optimisation.

Define and prioritise user stories, acceptance criteria, and features in JIRA, ensuring that engineering teams have clear specifications.

Collaborate with developers, designers, and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of technical requirements.

Optimise development processes, ensuring that the engineering team has the necessary structure to work efficiently.

Market Research & Customer Experience

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to refine product strategy.

Implement mechanisms to collect and analyse user feedback, ensuring that customer needs are incorporated into product development.

Work closely with UX/UI and development teams to enhance user experience, ensuring intuitive and high-value products.

Maintain ongoing engagement with clients, gathering insights to improve feature delivery and service quality.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Product Management, or a related field.

Certifications in Agile, Scrum, or Project Management (PMP, CSM, PSM, SAFe) are a plus.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, or Software Project Management.

Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with multiple departments.

Advanced knowledge of JIRA project management with engineering teams.

Ability to define, prioritise, and execute product roadmaps in agile environments.

Familiarity with UX/UI strategies, customer-focused development, and process automation.

Experience in direct client engagement and managing expectations to ensure satisfaction.

Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency in JIRA for managing engineering team projects, backlog prioritisation, and sprint planning.

Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, ensuring effective workflow management.

Experience with product roadmap planning, feature prioritisation, and lifecycle management.

Knowledge of software development processes, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and system integrations.

Familiarity with project management tools such as Confluence, Trello, Asana, or Monday.com.

Experience in product analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar) to assess product performance.

Ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for engineering teams.

Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and user experience optimisation.

Experience with customer feedback management systems to integrate insights into product development.
