Research Fellow Position in Maternal and Child Health

The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health invites applications for a Research Fellow role, providing an opportunity to build a strong research profile and gain hands-on experience in maternal and child health research.

As a Research Fellow, you will work closely with senior faculty members leading diverse MNCH research portfolios, receiving mentorship and tailored guidance to support your academic and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in maternal and child health research projects.
  • Conduct literature reviews to inform study design, publications, and protocol development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality research outputs and troubleshoot challenges during implementation.
  • Perform statistical analyses, interpret results, and provide insights for publications and presentations.
  • Contribute to manuscript drafting, grant writing, and responses to peer review comments.
  • Support knowledge dissemination through policy briefs, infographics, and summaries for stakeholders or non-academic audiences.
  • Present research findings at departmental meetings, workshops, or conferences.
  • Participate in capacity-building initiatives, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Maintain professionalism, adhere to ethical guidelines, and address ethical concerns promptly.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, collaborators, and study participants.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
  • MBBS Graduates: Recently graduated and seeking to build a research profile in maternal and child health before embarking on a clinical journey or a career in public health
  • Clinical Residents: Recently completed a residency in obstetrics or paediatrics and are looking to strengthen their research credentials
  • Public Health Graduates: Recently graduated from a well-reputed public health program aiming to gain hands-on research experience
  • A keen interest in maternal and child health research
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in academic writing and communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to professional development and learning
