Responsibilities:- Co-ordinate and ensure compliance with all grant and contractual requirements.
- Support the development of an organizational culture that promotes transparency, accountability, and high performance.
- Design an effective grants management and compliance system to be implemented at the institutional level that ensures compliance with donor requirements and respects projected spending patterns.
- Establish an effective and useful budget system for project and support costs.
- Advise the CEO/COO on the overall status of how the projects are utilizing funds.
- Provide support to the CEO's office in writing winning grant proposals.
- Deliver monthly briefings to senior management.
- Establish an effective system of grant management support to donors.
- Oversee the design and preparation of budgets for proposals.
- Review all grant agreements and advise on the acceptability and practicality of terms and conditions.
- Prepare annual and quarterly budgets and inform senior management of funding positions for various activities.
- Design tools/reports with the finance department to facilitate budget monitoring.
- Review all sub-grant agreements and contracts to ensure they fulfill donor/legal requirements and conduct subsequent financial monitoring.
- Oversee financial policies and procedures for accurate and consistent recording and reporting of all financial matters, including budgeting, external and internal financial reporting, restricted grant analysis, capital funds tracking, project cost accounting, and operational performance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all financial requirements of donor agencies and external auditors.
- Keep abreast of relevant laws and regulations to maintain up-to-date compliance.
- Prepare Final Accounts and all related books of Accounts and get them audited by the external auditor.
- Guide and monitor the work of staff under supervision.
- Prepare and present comprehensive written and oral reports.
- Participate in organizational strategic and operational planning.
- Keep track of receivables.
- Grant writing skills.
- Experience in developing user-friendly tools for budget monitoring.
