LocationIntroductionThe Department of Paediatrics and Child Health is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate training and subspecialty training and research opportunities. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of a paediatric ward with two units comprising 84 beds, a state of art Neonatal Intensive care unit with the latest equipment and protocols in place, and a capacity of 24 high acuity beds with one is to one staffing along with 10 bedded level 2 care monitored cots. The Neonatal section offers a 2-year Neonatal fellowship training and is one the oldest and established fellowship programs with 6 fellows. In addition to care for sick babies, the section also provides services along with Pediatric consultants to the Well babies in the post-natal wards.
The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor in the Department of Paediatric & Child Health.
This is a grant-funded contractual position.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
- develop high-quality research proposals for funding
- publish multiple original papers each year
- lead and support teaching and training efforts to enhance research capacity
- actively participate in research activities of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health
- correspond with journals regarding manuscripts
- communicate with the University Research Office, especially for extramural grants and annual research reports
- plan and compile study progress reports
- provide guidelines in protocol and article writing regarding study design, sample size calculation, data analysis procedure, questionnaire design, and sampling techniques
- develop SOPs and administrative processes/procedures for ongoing research projects to facilitate investigators and collaborators
- conduct internal audits for ongoing research projects and report to Principal investigators with recommendations.
You should have:
- MBBS degree along with a postgraduate degree in Public Health from an HEC recognized or foreign university/institution
- at least four years' experience of research projects in remote areas
- evidence of high scholarly output
- excellent interpersonal communication skills
- ability to work in teams
- integrity and strong research ethics
- excellent written and communication skills in English.
